backyard date night dinner

We have made some really good friends here. A lot of them. There are so many times when, even among the stress of having no money and sometimes no husband, that I just want to stop time and stay right here. That is largely because of the wonderful people we have met. We really do have so many friends here that could be considered more like family. I always know I have someone to call if I am in a bind or even if I just want to go out and do something fun! I can't tell you how many times my friends here in Glendale have saved me when I have needed a last minute baby sitter or something from the store. We always have a good time together.

There is one group of friends out of our friends here that consists of 4 couples and one of the couples just moved away. Naturally, we decided to throw a party. It seems like I am always looking for something new and fun to plan and my friends are right up the same alley! So we planned a going away dinner. We set up a table outside and made sure to schedule it so that the sun would be setting so that we could light the candles, put kids to bed and it would have an extra special feel. I would say that it was a success-- it had a wonderful ambiance.. exactly like we hoped for!

This is the table set up we had-- isn't it fun!? Those flowers were so interesting and fun. After the party, I delivered them to some other friends because I thought they were so pretty. I had to share!

In this group of friends, there happens to be quite some talent. Our menu was wonderful ( I am getting hungry just thinking about it) and it included this great raspberry lemonade that was just perfect for the summer evening.

Here we are during dinner. With most of the kids in bed and it being dark out, it really felt like it was a date night! We loved it.

This is Tim and Mary-- the couple that just moved to Utah. Congratulations to Tim on graduating! {We miss you already!!}

This is Spencer and Kelsey. We had the dinner in their backyard and it was perfect.They have worked hard on their backyard and it definitely shows.

This is Lindsey and Keegan. Lindsey was the mastermind behind the going away dinner plans.

This is a typical silly Caleb face. Here are the boys. The two on the right go to school with Caleb and will graduate the same year.

Here are the 4 girls. Such great friends! All 3 of these friends of mine are so funny, fun, compassionate and wonderful. We have such a good time when we get together.

Here is the group all together. Fortunately, I know that even when we all move away-- that won't be the end of it!
PS. Thank you Keegan for taking these pictures and thank you Mary for letting me steal them from your blog. :)
